07.09.05 - Castle View Personnel to sponsor ICT Community Golf Tournament 2005.

Inverness Golf Club's 18th Green and Club House

Having entered a team two years ago, Castle View Personnel were delighted to go one step further in 2005 and sponsor the bi-annual ICT Golf Day.

The event took place at Inverness Golf Club and was played over a Texas Scramble format with each team comprising 3 players.

Stewart McCallum, Managing Director of Castle View Personnel, spared early blushes as his 20ft putt on the first green rescued an unlikely par after a wayward start. Having also failed to birdie the second, a birdie at the third got the team going only for a run of five straight pars saw the team reach the turn in a less than inspiring level par. However, having negotiated the toughest part of the course in blustery conditions several birdie chances still lay ahead.

The turning point of the round came at the short tenth when so called ‘Team Captain’ Terry Nicholson made the mistake of forcing the team to play from a fairway bunker, resulting in a bogey at a hole most other teams birdied.

The back nine promised more and the team delivered with birdies at 12, 14 and 17 before that highlight of the day came at the very last hole. McCallum’s searching 4 iron in gloomy conditions not only resulted in a closing birdie two but also collected the nearest the pin award.

A good day was had by all and the event went on to raise over £50,000 for Team ICT which was a tremendous achievement.

Team ICT's Youth and Community Football Development programme is an innovative and fresh initiative designed to promote, and develop football and associated healthy living.
